A modern twist of Panthera's Website

A modern twist of Panthera's Website

A modern twist of Panthera's Website

Background

During my internship at Panthera, a very well respected wheelchair company, gave me the task to redesign their outdated website. The previous design had aged and was not responsive. Though it served its purpose for their employees, it failed to represent the organization's customers. I updated the website as a prototype in Figma to align with modern web design standards, emphasizing Panthera's mission and product offerings.

Test Person 1

Looks messy, I do however like the big pictures. The background is disturbing. Difficult to read. Prefer a bullet list than pure text. Too much unnecessary information

Test Person 2

Messy, too much going on. I like the pictures on the hero section. Logo as background looks old school

It doesn’t feel like a website, more of

User Research and Insights

User Research and Insights

To start the project I conducted comprehensive user testing on Panthera's existing website with mostly customers of their company. This crucial step allowed me to identify weaknesses and pinpoint problem areas in the old website's user experience. My goal was to gather valuable insights that would ultimately enhance Panthera's online presence.

Wireframing

I created lo-fi wireframes as a direct response to the user research findings on Panthera's existing website. These wireframes served as a practical means to translate user feedback into design improvements. By visualizing potential solutions in a simplified format, I was able to quickly iterate and experiment with different design elements, ensuring a user-centric approach while streamlining the design process.

Test Person 1

It feels way more roomy and so much easier to navigate through

Test Person 2

I am able to quickly find the products and information I am searching for

Test Person 3

I think it is damn good. Great overview of part compatibility, my non-techie dad can use it

Usability tests

After the wireframes were done I conducted usability tests to refine and validate our design solutions. Real users provided feedback, helping us identify and address any remaining usability issues. This iterative approach ensured Panthera's online presence was user-friendly and aligned with customer needs.

Visual Design

After refining the wireframes through usability tests, I proceeded to develop the high-fidelity visual designs. These designs incorporated brand elements and aesthetics while maintaining a user-friendly interface. Our goal was to create a visually appealing and an easy to use website that aligns with user needs and represents Panthera effectively.

Final thoughts

The redesign of Panthera's website significantly improved the user experience by addressing pain points and enhancing usability. Despite facing challenges like tight schedules and a limited user sample, the project provided positive outcomes.

To further refine the design, I would conduct additional usability tests and interviews with a wider range of users. This approach will help ensure a more user-centric website that aligns with user expectations and goals.

Despite the promising results and recommendations, Panthera decided not to implement the design improvements due to a lack of interest and other factors.
